These are the same "Blue Lives Matters" strand of white folks.
These are the 'humans' that couldn't wait to see if Black and Brown victims of police brutality had any prior arrests, owed child support, had marijuana or liquor in their system, or maybe even forgot to return a library book, and therefore "deserved to be murdered" by the state.
These are the same folks who would bend over backwards to defend the officers responsible for the deaths of so many Black and Brown people.
I wonder what's different here (rhetorical). It's clear that white supremacy and islamaphobia trumps "blue lives matter". It is also clear that although usually white supremacy = Blue lives matter, this particular case doesn't fit their equation.
He didn't play by the rules of white supremacy. This is one of the only cases of murder by the police state in which law enforcement of color has killed an unarmed white person. Matter fact is there another case people can think of? The reason for that is because officers of color know that they can kill other people of color with impunity, but that they better know their place when it comes to white folks.
So do you think this officer will keep his job? Be arrested and convicted? If and when he loses his job, is arrested and convicted, you can rest assure that it's not because "justice" was finally served in a case of police brutality. It will be because white supremacy needs these officers to know that unarmed white folks are off limits, and he will be made a scape goat for that reason and only that reason.
I'm seeing some people openly hope that somehow now white people in masses and in power, the ones who have been ignoring these issues, will finally do something about the police state, but no, I believe those folks are sadly wrong. They're not all of a sudden gonna be looking to protect Black and Brown lives, they simply want to make sure that white supremacy remains in tact.

Rest In Peace Justine Damand, like so many Black and Brown people murdered by police before you, you deserved to not be murdered by the police state, by the law enforcement officer you called for help, my heart goes out to your family and friends.
